At the same time, the new iPhone 12 is coming to the market with a new physical design. It has overhauled design with a metal frame. As their internal sources reveal, the newcomer has a more complex segmentation design, and new trenching and injection molding procedures. The new iPhone will include a stainless steel frame replacing the current rounded stainless steel frame. It continues to use the front and back glass for the body of the device.

Many people believe that this time Apple will introduce a new color, and it would be a new

navy blue finish. Some predict that the iPhone 12 models could come in light blue, violet, and light orange, among other colors.

Besides the above features, Apple will bring Triple-lens 3D camera, OLED displays, 5G connectivity, and A14 chip for the upcoming iPhone12.  

The minimum price will start at $649.

Samsung reveals their upcoming devices at least once a year, and they exposed the below devices recently at the “Samsung Unpacked” event in February 2020.

With a unique and elegant design, Galaxy Z Flip is the new guest in town. Samsung’s flip phone-style folding smartphone is the latest version of their mobile phones, and the price of is $1,380. 

When it is unfolded, the screen is 6.7 inches. A small exterior display allows for some lightweight functionality, and few details can be seen in the folded device. The most amazing feature is a sort of halfway unfolded, a laptop-style mode called “Flex mode”. You can use Galaxy Z Flip like a mini laptop. It has particularly designed for hands-free video calls.

Galaxy S20 is another new device, and it comes with three variants: the S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra. The three phones have three different displays like in iPhone 12. S20 comes in at 6.2″, S20+ at 6.7″ and S20 Ultra at 6.9″. They run at 120hz, and all three models are 5G supportive.

Samsung highly focuses on its’ camera. It has three cameras, the beefiest of which is a 64-megapixel telephoto lens. The S20+ and S20 Ultra have four cameras with the introduction of a depth sensor. At the same time, the S20 Ultra includes a quite wild 108-megapixel sensor on the wide-angle lens. The camera specs vary from phone to phone.

This time Samsung becomes a competitor for Apple’s AirPods. Galaxy Buds+ is similar to its’ original buds, but with more new, improved features. The sound quality is better, and buds are improved into a dual driver system. When you fully charge the buds, you may use it for 11 hours, with the companion charging case providing another 11 hours of charge in a pinch. Different types of 5 G Technology

As mentioned earlier, G in 5G is a Generation of wireless technology. The technical definition of Generation is due to their data transmission speed and air interfaces. 1G was analog cellular, and 2G technologies included CDMA, GSM, and TDMA. They were the first generations of wireless technology. 3G technologies were at higher speed than the first two generations. For instance, EVDO, HSPA, and UMTS 3G technologies increased speeds from 200kbps to a few megabits per second. The next incompatible lead forward was technologies such as WiMax and LTE, which belonged to the 4th generation or, in other words, 4G. These technologies are scaling up to hundreds of megabits and gigabits speeds. The latest generation, 5G, comes with three new aspects; bigger channels, lower latency, and the ability to connect more devices at once. These aspects help to speed up data, be more responsive, and more connectivity, respectively. 

One of the significant differences between 4G and 5G is that 5G carries more airwaves than 4G did. 5G opens up “High-band” airwaves in short ranges that did not work well with 4G. However, 5G can run on any frequency. There are thereby, three very different kinds of 5G experiences; Low, Middle, and High. One thing to understand here is that 5G speed depends on how wide the available channels are.

Low- Band 5 G

This range is below 2GHz. Hence they are the oldest cellular and Tv frequencies. The low band can go great distances (blanket coverage), but they don’t have wide channels. 4G uses all the channels that are available in the low band, making it slower. Hence it acts and feels like 4G for the time being. 

Mid-Band 5 G

Mid band or middle band offers coverage and capacity. This band type is ideal for 5G, as it can carry plenty of data while traveling significant distances. The mid-band is in 2GHz to 10GHz range. Most countries have offered around 100GHz to each of the carriers for mid-band 5G. 

High Band 5 G

High band 5G provides you with super-fast speed but short distances. Another term for this high-band is millimeter-wave. This is mostly airwaves between 20–100GHz. This airwave has not been used in any consumer applications due to its very short range, only about 800-foot distances from towers. Since there’s a vast amount of unused spectrum, the speed can go up to about 800MHz at a time. 

How does It Work?

In simple terms, 5G works on the spectrums that we discussed earlier. However, like any other cellular network, 5G also uses a system of cell sites that separate their territory into sectors and sends encoded data through radio waves. And these cell sites are connected to a network backbone through a wired or a wireless backhaul connection. 5(FIVE)G network uses an encoding called OFDM, which is very similar to the one that 4G LTE uses. The only difference is that there is much lower latency and greater flexibility in the air interface than 4G LTE. 

Since the encoding is much efficient, the 5G radio system can get about 30% better speeds even with the same airwaves as 4G. As mentioned before, the crazy GB speeds you hear about 5G is because it uses much larger channels than 4G. 5G channels can be up to 100MHz while most of the 4G channels are 20MHz, bonded together into up to 140MHz. However, 5G also requires larger, clear blocks of airwaves with these wide range channels to provide those crazy speeds. 

This is where the High-band 5(FIVE)G comes in; in other words, short distance Millimeter-wave frequencies. 4G often uses the lower frequencies. TV stations, Satellite firms, and Military use up as well. Hence there are a lot of unused higher frequencies available to make way for higher speeds.

In the beginning, man existed in hostile environments where he struggled for survival by using his wits. This led the man to use him to improve his remarkable invention abilities. The ice ages brought substantial environmental changes, affecting a vast region that even the Technology of the 20th century might hard to conquer.

To survive the climatic changes, the ice age man had to improvise shelters, cave stones and invented fire by rubbing two stones or wood together to keep them warm. They then made use of fire to make tools and weapons. This was the earliest means of Technology that is known to humankind. Techn ology is the use of scientific knowledge to better implementation of practical aims in human life. When we apply our scientific knowledge to achieve a specific task, we are using Technology. The History of Technology – Evolution

The term Technology derives from the Greek words Techne and Logos. Techne means arts and crafts, while Logos implies knowledge. An interesting fact about the term Technology is that, initially, it described applied arts. However, now we use it to express any advancement or change around us. The history of Technology goes back to the beginning of life forms on earth. It has now evolved into modern technologies such as computers, nuclear power, artificial intelligence, and many more. Let us look at a summary of the evolution of Technology.

  • The invention of First Tools like weapons made of stone flakes and hammers made those weapons using large unshaped stones and anvils. 
  • The invention of fire. By Homo Erectus 1 million years ago. 
  • Neolithic Revolution – the invention of the wheel was around this time. Many technological advances, such as using clay to make pottery and bricks, woven clothes, turning from foraging to agriculture, took place- this era considered the turning point of Technology.
  • Then came the introduction of Irrigation technology, making Sailing ships with oars for navigation sailed on the Nile river, and production of Iron took place.
  • Later days: The invention of; printing, steamboats, railways, photography, the telephone, Electric light, and the automobile marked a significant mark in the evolution of Technology.
  • 19th and 20th Century: The invention of the Airplane, Television, Internet, Artificial intelligence, Digital computer, etc.  

Classification of Technology; types of Technology

To better understand what Technology is, we have to look at the types of Technology around us. Technology is a bit far-fetched than using only our scientific knowledge to solve practical problems in our lives. There are so many ways to classify Technology to identify and understand existing technologies. Let’s look at some such classifications.  

Technology not only provides you with objects like knives, computers, or televisions. It includes methodologies and intangible goods, which help you in your daily lives. Accordingly, we can classify Technology as,

  • Hard technologies – those with tangible goods. (Computers, Telephones, Aircraft, etc.)
  • Soft Technologies – those with intangible goods. (Lean manufacturing, Financial Accounting systems, Virtual Assistants, etc.)

Another classification is Flexible Technology; it is a set of technologies used in many application areas. For example, a microchip is used in products like televisions, telephones, computers, machines, etc. Fixed Technology; encompasses a whole technology that is used only in a product or a specific area. An example of fixed Technology is fungicides. 

We can also classify technologies depending on different types of Technology. We will focus on some of the main types.

  • Communication Technology: This is the most common type of Technology. This includes mobile devices, landlines, office phones.
  • Entertainment Technology: After a long day of work, we often find ourselves watching a movie or playing games or even listening to music; This basically entails entertainment technology. 
  • Medical Technology: This type of technology hospitals or clinics have to treat, diagnose, and extend human lives. It is highly associated with innovation. CT, MRI scans, x rays are some of the examples.
  • Education Technology: this technology type supports the improvement of the performances in students. Installation of smart boards and e-learning are examples.  
  • Construction technology: This is one of the oldest types of technologies. Construction processes use this type of Technology. Tractors, computer software to design buildings are some examples.
