Learn to speed up your computer: tips for lag fixing and cache cleaning

PCs and laptops are essential devices for our day to day activities since rapid technology development began to dominate our lives. However, using a PC or a laptop is not enough; we should learn some key factors if we use them daily. Since they are all machines, we have to face technical issues like your PC get slow suddenly. In those scenarios, you should know to fix those and speed up your computer.

Thus, here are some simple tips for PC lag fixing.

How do you identify that your computer is lagging?

Actually, this is not rocket science; we all have experience lagging in different ways. However, PC or laptop lagging can manifest itself in different ways as mentioned below;

  • It takes more time for saving documents or converting files.
  • Windows and programs open very slowly
  • Too much of time for the operating system to load or shut down
  • Most of the time file writing errors pop up
  • Download/upload speed of internet connection becomes very slow
  • Graphics flicker, stutter and frame rates drop
  • Games or applications stutter, flicker and delay
  • Windows error messages appear
  • Printers, USB, or other peripherals connected to your computer may not function properly.

What are the reasons for PC lagging and how to fix them?

If you have an old, overly heated CPU, it may be the main reason for lagging in your computer. To ensure that your computer CPU performs well, you can make a CPU stress test and monitor your AMD CPU via the System Monitor from AMD. Then you can confirm that the computer’s processor is working as supposed. You can replace the old one if it is not up to the expected standard and has poor performance. Then you can fix the lagging.

Your RAM may be another reason to slow down your PC performance. If it is corrupted or insufficient, you need to fix it by doing many things such as restarting the PC randomly, replacing the corrupted RAM, and adding more memory for your computer to get rid of lag on PC in Windows.

If you experience PC lagging when you play computer games, one of the leading causes is the graphics card issue. You may have an old graphic card. When you play games on computers with the low-level graphics card, your computer is at a high risk to lag. So to fix lag on PC games in Window, you can upgrade the graphics card.

HDD is another reason your computer would lag, especially even freeze when you are playing games that are fairly demanding for speed. Therefore you can upgrade HDD to SSD. If you configure SSD correctly into your machine, it will speed up your gaming speed, and the lagging problem is also solved.

What is web threat?-All the types of web treats at a glance!

Threats are common in everyone’s lives. These can be for your belongings, which are sensible such as property and money, or for which are insensible such as your internet businesses. So, let us discuss what is web threat? We all use mobile phones or computers connected to the internet to make our day-to-day work much more comfortable. If you use the internet for personal things, these threats may attack your private life. If you are an employee of an organization, the threats may attack your organizational businesses too. We hope that knowledge of this subject and the ways of mitigating them will be useful for both your personal and professional lives.

What is a web threat?

Cybercrime, which is facilitating using the World Wide Web, is known as a web threat. They can be malware, frauds to steal information from others. These web threats can facilitate various types of risks, directly or indirectly. They can be confidentially data loss, financial damage, damage to personal or brand reputation, loss of customer faith, confidence, or identity theft.

What are the most common web threats?

Virus

Virus is the most well-known web threat. Furthermore, virus is most probably the first thing that comes to our mind when someone asks from you what is web threat? Usually, they are attached to the files we typically download. When we download a file with a virus, it can spread at a high rate. Also, virus can enter your computer through USB sticks, CDs, DVDs or can be through an e-mail too. So, this has a range of transporting methods than other web threats.

Trojan

This makes your computer wholly unprotected. So, web hackers can rob your information from your system. Even though it is saying that Trojans are simple programs, hackers can enter to your computer unknowingly without detecting even a clue.

Spam

This is a massive issue in our day to day e-mail communications. We all receive a huge number of spam or junk e-mails to our personal or office e-mail accounts. These are sometimes annoying to us. Even though it is not a direct threat, this can contain malware to our programs.

Adware

You might have probably noticed that there are some useless advertisements are displaying when you surf the internet. They are not related to your searching fact even. Those are called adware, which is a type of malware. Sometimes, these ads direct you to some advertising websites. Then they ask for some personal information from you, which are malicious. This adware includes some shareware and freeware downloads too. So, when you search something through the internet, this adware will direct you automatically to downloading things. This is a complete headache.

Spyware

This malware is connected to pop up of files that can download. When this is installed on your computer, it can monitor your actions, read them, and delete them. Also, it can reformat the hard drive and can enter your applications too. Several issues can happen to delete your data security information. This information can be your personal belongings such as banking details, credit card details, or can be your work-related files.

Which are most vulnerable to web threats?

There are several applications and operating systems that show a high tendency to have a web security threat. You do not have a proper security product installed on your computer or are using commonly used operating systems and applications.

Adobe reader

Usually, this is a widespread target for web attacks during the past one and half years. Now, they have implemented a tool for the safe-guard of the application even though it shows a high vulnerability to attacks.

Java

Java also has a high tendency to attacks. It runs through various operating systems, which has been installed to 3 billion devices all over the world. So, the vulnerability to an attack is natural to some Java programs.

Windows and Internet explorer

This was found from 2010 onwards. The attack can happen due to improper handling of JPEG files and through windows help and support center.

Android

Operating systems such as Android also shows a great vulnerability to web threats. Hackers use this to get root privileges, and then they get control over your device.

How to detect and mitigate web threats?

Conventional approaches have been failed several times to protect you from web threats. Currently, the most accepted way of detecting and mitigating them is multi-layered protection. This provides overall protection to your computer, information, and data too.

Conclusion

Millions of web attacks are happening every day. Your personal and sensitive data are the main target of those threats. Most of the time, people are not aware of a particular kind of threat until it happens. The action that you are taking at that time will be too late to recover. So, we hope our article on what is web threat will be useful for you to be proactive against web threats.

What is 5G Technology? Everything explained A to Z

What is 5 G Technology? Everything explained A to Z

The mobile network has evolved through the years, from analog cellular to WiMAX. 5G is the 5th Generation mobile network, and it’s the latest. Before 5G, there have been 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G mobile networks. 5G allows a new type of a network to connect everyone and anything virtually, including machines, objects, and devices. You will see an exponentially faster download and upload speed with 5G. Also, it will reduce the time it takes devices to communicate through wireless networks. This article will give you an overview of what is 5G technology and how it works.

Different types of 5 G Technology

As mentioned earlier, G in 5G is a Generation of wireless technology. The technical definition of Generation is due to their data transmission speed and air interfaces. 1G was analog cellular, and 2G technologies included CDMA, GSM, and TDMA. They were the first generations of wireless technology. 3G technologies were at higher speed than the first two generations. For instance, EVDO, HSPA, and UMTS 3G technologies increased speeds from 200kbps to a few megabits per second. The next incompatible lead forward was technologies such as WiMax and LTE, which belonged to the 4th generation or, in other words, 4G. These technologies are scaling up to hundreds of megabits and gigabits speeds. The latest generation, 5G, comes with three new aspects; bigger channels, lower latency, and the ability to connect more devices at once. These aspects help to speed up data, be more responsive, and more connectivity, respectively.

One of the significant differences between 4G and 5G is that 5G carries more airwaves than 4G did. 5G opens up “High-band” airwaves in short ranges that did not work well with 4G. However, 5G can run on any frequency. There are thereby, three very different kinds of 5G experiences; Low, Middle, and High. One thing to understand here is that 5G speed depends on how wide the available channels are.

Low- Band 5 G

This range is below 2GHz. Hence they are the oldest cellular and Tv frequencies. The low band can go great distances (blanket coverage), but they don’t have wide channels. 4G uses all the channels that are available in the low band, making it slower. Hence it acts and feels like 4G for the time being.

Mid-Band 5 G

Mid band or middle band offers coverage and capacity. This band type is ideal for 5G, as it can carry plenty of data while traveling significant distances. The mid-band is in 2GHz to 10GHz range. Most countries have offered around 100GHz to each of the carriers for mid-band 5G.

High Band 5 G

High band 5G provides you with super-fast speed but short distances. Another term for this high-band is millimeter-wave. This is mostly airwaves between 20–100GHz. This airwave has not been used in any consumer applications due to its very short range, only about 800-foot distances from towers. Since there’s a vast amount of unused spectrum, the speed can go up to about 800MHz at a time.

How does It Work?

In simple terms, 5G works on the spectrums that we discussed earlier. However, like any other cellular network, 5G also uses a system of cell sites that separate their territory into sectors and sends encoded data through radio waves. And these cell sites are connected to a network backbone through a wired or a wireless backhaul connection. 5(FIVE)G network uses an encoding called OFDM, which is very similar to the one that 4G LTE uses. The only difference is that there is much lower latency and greater flexibility in the air interface than 4G LTE.

Since the encoding is much efficient, the 5G radio system can get about 30% better speeds even with the same airwaves as 4G. As mentioned before, the crazy GB speeds you hear about 5G is because it uses much larger channels than 4G. 5G channels can be up to 100MHz while most of the 4G channels are 20MHz, bonded together into up to 140MHz. However, 5G also requires larger, clear blocks of airwaves with these wide range channels to provide those crazy speeds.

This is where the High-band 5(FIVE)G comes in; in other words, short distance Millimeter-wave frequencies. 4G often uses the lower frequencies. TV stations, Satellite firms, and Military use up as well. Hence there are a lot of unused higher frequencies available to make way for higher speeds.

Wrapping up!

5G is will change the world as it has never been before with high speed, low latency, and huge capacities that it offers. It will be a significant component of artificial intelligence, and it also may bring augmented and virtual reality. That is why, it is necessary to understand what is 5FIVEG technology and how it works!

Artificial Intelligence(AI) vs. Machine Learning(ML) – Find out the differences!

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has changed the face of technology through its evolvement. The early days of AI worked on Neural networks. They are computing systems with interconnected nodes that work much like neurons in the human brain. Working with Neural networks encouraged the excitement for Machine learning (ML). People often use AI and ML interchangeably. AI is the capability of a digital computer to perform tasks which usually associated with intelligent beings. And ML is learning on its own without being programmed. It is an application of AI; that provides the system, the ability to learn and improve by itself automatically. It may sound that AI and ML are entirely interdependent. However, there is a immense difference between the two that are still unknown to the industry professionals. Through this article, we are going to offer an insight into Ai vs. Ml.

Difference between Artificial Intelligence vs. Machine Learning

Let us start by going through some of the easy/practical examples that you and I know; Virtual Personal Assistants. Some of the virtual personal assistants that we are familiar with, Siri (Created by Apple inc), Google now (Google-owned), Cortana (created by MS for Windows 10), and Alexa (Created by Amazon). These intelligent virtual assistants help us to find relevant information when requested by voice. AI is important in these applications as they collect data on the user’s request and use it to recognize speech in a better manner, thereby serving the customer with more customized answers. ML is also important in this as it gathers and improves data based on the user’s past participation with them.

In easy words, AI is when a computer algorithm does intelligent work. And Machine Learning is a part of AI that learns from data gathered in past experiences and allows the system to change its behaviors accordingly.

AI vs. Machine Learning further explained;

  • Artificial Intelligence aims to increase the possibility of success than the accuracy, whereas in ML focuses on the accuracy and does not care about the success rates.
  • AI is a computer system that does smart work, but ML is a simple concept where the machine takes data and learns from data.
  • The goal of AI is to increase natural intelligence to solve complex problems, and ML’s goal is to learn from data on a specific task to improve the performance of the machine on that task.
  • Moreover, AI is decision making, while ML is more of learning from the acquired data.
  • Furthermore, AI focuses on finding the most favorable solution, whereas in ML will only go for the answer, whether it’s optimal or not.
  • AI leads to intelligence or wisdom, while ML leads to knowledge.

What is next for AI and ML?

Day by day, people are more dependent on machines and systems than the early days for many reasons. Hence we will see many developments in AI and ML soon. Some of the predictions that have been brought forth by ML and AI users are,

  • In the future, we might experience an increase in drone usage to enhance lifestyles – Companies are planning to deliver their products using drones as they can avoid getting stuck in traffic or constructions. They are thereby providing a more real-time customer experience.
  • Machines directed by Humans – Machines have outsmarted the human brain in many areas. They are much advanced when it comes to recognizing faces and driving safely. There is a high prediction that Machine + Man will be a reality soon; Humans will train machines by providing large chunks of data.
  • Future development in “Unsupervised ML Algorithms” will lead to higher business outcomes.

Benefiting every human being by AI and ML in core industrial sectors such as,

  • Healthcare; advanced machines will be expected to accurate and timely diagnosis while the practitioners can focus more on the patient.
  • Field of finance, technologies will predict the movements in the market and detect finance fraud in real-time.
  • Real Estate; Companies are installing advanced CRM systems to connect startups and businesses, and many more.
  • Intelligence Ecosystems – Since there is an increase in intelligent technology, in the future, instead of working independently, machines will connect and work as one (similar to IoT). They will be able to work with or without human input.
Final Thoughts!

There will come a time when we are unable to survive without Artificial Intelligence and Machine

Learning. Hence it’s important us to understand the basic definitions and differences of Artificial Intelligence vs. Machine Learning. ML is a subset of AI, but there are significant differences between the two technologies, i.e., all the ML is Artificial Intelligence, but not all Artificial intelligence is Machine Learning!

What is Artificial Intelligence – Everything you need to know!

Have you ever wondered how do self-driving cars work, or how does Siri answer all your questions? The answer to this question is Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the ability of a digital computer or a computer-controlled robot to perform tasks which usually associated with intelligent beings. This term is generally used in projects, developing systems capable of intellectual processes characteristics of a human such as the ability to reason, discover meaning, and generalize. This article will provide you with all the information related to what is Artificial Intelligence.

The History of Artificial Intelligence

The beginning of AI runs back to a time when the classical philosophers tried to describe human thinking as a symbolic system. Also, back to the time 1940s, when the digital computer developed. A computer is programmed to perform many complex tasks such as proving a mathematical theorem to playing chess at a proficient level. However, the term Artificial Intelligence was formally introduced to the world in 1956 at a conference held by Dartmouth College. John McCarthy and Marvin Minsky conducted the meeting. AI has been popular ever since. Early AI researches explored areas like problem-solving and symbolic methods. Time from 1957 to 1974 was the flourishing period of AI.

The US Department of Defense took an interest in this type of work in the 1960s. It led them to train their computers to imitate basic human reasoning. As a result, the Defense Advanced Project Agency (DAPRA) completed street mapping projects in 1970. Moreover, DAPRA developed intelligent personal assistants in 2003 long before Siri and Alexa or Cortana. Let’s look at some crucial timelines of AI history.

The 1950s to 1970s – Neural Networks: These networks are computing systems. They consists of interconnected nodes that work much like neurons in the human brain. These networks are ideally suited to support people to solve complex real-life problems. They learn and model the relation between inputs and output that are non-linear and complex. Early works with Neural Networks stir the excitement for “Machine Learning.”

The 1980s to 2010s – Machine Learning: This period was famous for Machine Learning (ML). It’s the art of programming computers so they can learn from data. ML is a branch of AI based on the idea that systems can learn on its own, identify problems, and make decisions with minimum human intervention.

The Present and Future of AI

Present Day: A lot of Hollywood movies and fictional novels illustrate AI as human-like robots who try to take over the world. But in truth, it is not that scary or that smart! It has evolved to provide many specific benefits for almost every industry.

Deep learning breakthroughs have helped AI to prosper. It is a type of Machine Learning. Further, it can train a computer to carry out specific human-related tasks such as recognizing speech, identifying images, or making a prediction.

In Deep Learning, there are no organized data to run through a predefined equation. It sets the necessary scope and coaches the computer to learn them on its own by recognizing patterns using different layers of processing.

How to use AI in today’s world?

  • Healthcare – A quicker and accurate diagnosis of diseases through AI, and it helps to provide personalized medicine. Even drug discovery is faster and efficient. Big data analysis plays a huge role in creating a more personalized patient experience.
  • Education – Textbooks and other reading materials are digitally available thanks to AI. Virtual tutors and facial analysis captures the emotions of students to determine who is bored or struggling for an accurate/better educational experience.
  • Transportation – Introduction of human-less cars is a significant breakthrough in AI, though it may take even a decade to perfect them to take us from place to place.
  • Retail – AI provides the opportunity of virtual shopping that offer personalized recommendations and discuss options with the consumer. Stock management also has greatly improved with AI.

Above mentioned are only a few focused areas that AI has vastly made improvements to. Sectors like media, Customer services, Manufacturing, Banking, and many more also has drastic effects on AI.

Wrapping up and the future of AI:

AI is essential for many reasons. Such as repetitive learning and discoveries through data, add intelligence, we can achieve incredible accuracy; it analyses more and deeper data, and many more.

So what will be in store for the future? AI language is likely to be the next big thing in the immediate future. As mentioned earlier,

autonomous cars or driver-less cars can be

expected in the next twenty years or so. In the long run, the ultimate goal is to have machines that beat human cognitive abilities in all tasks. Even if it poses a robust ethical question, let’s allow AI to improve and run amok in society for now steadily.

What is technology? A brief look at its Evolution and classification

In the beginning, man existed in hostile environments where he struggled for survival by using his wits. This led the man to use him to improve his remarkable invention abilities. The ice ages brought substantial environmental changes, affecting a vast region that even the Technology of the 20th century might hard to conquer.

To survive the climatic changes, the ice age man had to improvise shelters, cave stones and invented fire by rubbing two stones or wood together to keep them warm. They then made use of fire to make tools and weapons. This was the earliest means of Technology that is known to humankind. Techn ology is the use of scientific knowledge to better implementation of practical aims in human life. When we apply our scientific knowledge to achieve a specific task, we are using Technology. This article will provide a brief introduction to understand better “what is technology.”

The History of Technology – Evolution

The term Technology derives from the Greek words Techne and Logos. Techne means arts and crafts, while Logos implies knowledge. An interesting fact about the term Technology is that, initially, it described applied arts. However, now we use it to express any advancement or change around us. The history of Technology goes back to the beginning of life forms on earth. It has now evolved into modern technologies such as computers, nuclear power, artificial intelligence, and many more. Let us look at a summary of the evolution of Technology.

  • The invention of First Tools like weapons made of stone flakes and hammers made those weapons using large unshaped stones and anvils.
  • The invention of fire. By Homo Erectus 1 million years ago.
  • Neolithic Revolution – the invention of the wheel was around this time. Many technological advances, such as using clay to make pottery and bricks, woven clothes, turning from foraging to agriculture, took place- this era considered the turning point of Technology.
  • Then came the introduction of Irrigation technology, making Sailing ships with oars for navigation sailed on the Nile river, and production of Iron took place.
  • Later days: The invention of; printing, steamboats, railways, photography, the telephone, Electric light, and the automobile marked a significant mark in the evolution of Technology.
  • 19th and 20th Century: The invention of the Airplane, Television, Internet, Artificial intelligence, Digital computer, etc.

Classification of Technology; types of Technology

To better understand what Technology is, we have to look at the types of Technology around us. Technology is a bit far-fetched than using only our scientific knowledge to solve practical problems in our lives. There are so many ways to classify Technology to identify and understand existing technologies. Let’s look at some such classifications.

Technology not only provides you with objects like knives, computers, or televisions. It includes methodologies and intangible goods, which help you in your daily lives. Accordingly, we can classify Technology as,

  • Hard technologies – those with tangible goods. (Computers, Telephones, Aircraft, etc.)
  • Soft Technologies – those with intangible goods. (Lean manufacturing, Financial Accounting systems, Virtual Assistants, etc.)

Another classification is Flexible Technology; it is a set of technologies used in many application areas. For example, a microchip is used in products like televisions, telephones, computers, machines, etc. Fixed Technology; encompasses a whole technology that is used only in a product or a specific area. An example of fixed Technology is fungicides.

We can also classify technologies depending on different types of Technology. We will focus on some of the main types.

  • Communication Technology: This is the most common type of Technology. This includes mobile devices, landlines, office phones.
  • Entertainment Technology: After a long day of work, we often find ourselves watching a movie or playing games or even listening to music; This basically entails entertainment technology.
  • Medical Technology: This type of technology hospitals or clinics have to treat, diagnose, and extend human lives. It is highly associated with innovation. CT, MRI scans, x rays are some of the examples.
  • Education Technology: this technology type supports the improvement of the performances in students. Installation of smart boards and e-learning are examples.
  • Construction technology: This is one of the oldest types of technologies. Construction processes use this type of Technology. Tractors, computer software to design buildings are some examples.

Final Thoughts!

What is Technology? It is indeed a broad and complex topic that has many definitions. By understanding how it came into being and how different types of technologies work, we can get a fair idea of the meaning of Technology!
